    Halton Region's Water-Efficient Toilet Rebate Program

    Halton Region sponsors a program that provides those in single-family homes with a rebate for switching to an approved water-efficient toilet. Making the switch will help you: - Reduce your water use in your home. - Reduce your impact on the environment.

    Backwater valve rebate

    A sanitary backwater valve is a device that can be installed on your main sewer line (wastewater/sanitary lateral). For those who are eligible, Peel Region offers a rebate for 60% of the invoiced amount, up to a maximum of $1500 (including tax). The Peel Region rebate is only applicable to a backwater valve connected to the sanitary lateral. Contact a contractor to determine if your backwater valve is connected to your sanitary or storm lateral.

    Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program

    ring heavy rain, the sewers can become overloaded. It is essential that homeowners take appropriate action to reduce the risk of basement flooding. Owners of a single-family, duplex, triplex or fourplex residential home can apply online for a subsidy of up to $3,400 per property to install flood protection devices. Eligible work includes: installation of a backwater valve; installation of a sump pump; severance and capping of a home’s storm sewer or external weeping tile connection. Disconnecting the downspouts from your property’s eavestrough system is not eligible for a subsidy. Before proceeding to the online application, please review the eligibility criteria.
